Abby's 2012 "Dilo En Español" Challenge #2

For all of Abby's challenges participants can create anything they wish, a card, a LO, an altered item, a sign.

Para todos los retos las participantes pueden crear lo que gusten, ya sea una tarjeta, un LO, algo alterado, letrero, cajitas.

Challenge #2/ Reto #2
Begins on February 3, 2012
Theme/Tema
LOVE/AMOR
Use at least 3 hearts/utilizar por lo menos 3 corazones

Here is the card I made:

I love that this card is filled with so much cuteness!
The Kiki LaRue Stamp, the three little sparkely hearts,
But my favorite part of all, is the faux scalloped oval border
that I created using a straight edge punch!!!
AND I learned how to do it from...

I wish I could remember who did it, but apparently I didn't pin it, and
now I can't find who to credit for such a brilliant idea!
It was so super easy!
I was apprehensive and doubtful at first,
but decided to try it anyway,
AND IT WORKED!!!
I used the MS punch pictured below, and punched a strip of
white paper.  I actually didn't make it long enough,
as I had no idea how much it would take to get
all the way around. So I just punch a little more
and continued the same way...
and it worked out just fine!

As you note in the picture below, the trick is to cut slits part way through the border so that you're able to "curve" the paper.  If you look at the back view, you'll note where the cuts on the border were made, and how I was able to lay it down.

Isn't that just so clever!

This little trick just expanded my options for borders exponentially!
YAY!!! You should give it a try!

Thank you for visiting my friends, and don't forget to go
This week's prize is an adorable stamp from
The Greeting Farm!
So go check her out!
